We have heard a lot about JEE Exam (Joint Entrance Examination). What is JEE? What's the difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced? How can I get admission in IIT, NIT, IIIT? How can I get admission for engineering on top campuses in India? What is the exam pattern for JEE? I'm not applied for JEE or I'm not qualified in JEE, What Next? These are the general questions asked by students related to JEE. So in this section, I am going to answer these questions.
What is JEE?
JEE is an exam conducted for students who are seeking admission for engineering in India's top institutions like IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), NIT (National Institutes of Technology), IIIT (Indian Institute of Information Technology) and other centrally funded technical institutions. The examination is conducted by CBSE, but 2019 onwards it will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). JEE examination is conducted in two stages, JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
What is JEE Main?
JEE Main is the first stage examination. It is applicable to all the students who are applied. Students who score good marks may get admission in IIT, NIT,IIIT and other centrally funded technical institutions.
What is JEE Advanced?
JEE Advanced is only applicable for students who are scored high marks in JEE Main. It is also known as IIT-JEE. If you need specifically admission in any IITs or IISC Bangalore or IISER, then you need to go for JEE Advanced and it is important to make a good score (Rank under 2,20,000).
Which pattern is followed in JEE Examination?
There may be some slight variations may occur in JEE pattern from 2019th onwards, because from this year onwards JEE Examination is conducted by NTA instead of CBSE.
In JEE Main there are two papers, paper one is for engineering courses and paper two is purely for architecture courses. Paper one having total 90 questions on that 30 questions from Physics, 30 Chemistry, and 30 Mathematics. Each correct answers carries four marks and every wrong answer having a one minus mark. JEE also consider your plus one and plus two Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics marks.
JEE Advanced also having two papers approximately similar to JEE Main papers. But the questions are purely based on basic concept knowledge and problem-solving types. By referring plus one and plus two PCM textbooks you can easily understand these concepts and it is very important too. Every year changes will occur in JEE Advanced pattern, however, this may be the probable pattern.
I'm not applied for JEE or I'm not qualified in JEE, What Next?
If you are not applied for JEE or you are failed in JEE. Definitely, you can't study in any IITs or NITs. But you can study in other Universities and top campus in your state without qualifying any entrance examination. You can study in these institutions with higher education scholarship. Students can avail up to 95% scholarship of their total course fee, educateme.in is an online platform which provides free of cost assistance for higher education scholarship.
